Re: Bolo Lure
"Frosty Silver" along with brass and nickel were available finishes on Bolo's in the 1966 Les Davis catalog. Silver plate was(and still is) a very common finish on Salmon spoons as well.

Re: MA-11 Boat launch?
I have not seen a single good report for crabbing anywhere south of Port Angelus so far this year. Its depressing. Did the commercials and tribes get to go first again this year and clean them out?[/quote] I was unaware that the Puget Sound crab fishery was commercially harvested. Could be the MILLI...

Re: Help ID Trolling Flashers
The soldered wire attachment on the blades was pretty much the norm on very early(pre1900) metal baits and was used commonly into the 40's at least. The box swivel on the front of the troll was in common use until around 1930-35 before barrel swivels and McMahon swivels became the standard. Check th...

mhc= medium heavy casting. that is most likely a varmac reel seat and was state of the art in the 1980's. still a favorite of mine.

Re: Securing battery box to 8-10' pontoon, err?? Help
Would adding a couple of footman loops and using the belt/strap that came with the box work? strap and loops could be used to tie down anything when not using the pontoon with the motor and battery and are pretty unobtrusive when not needed.

Re: That's gonna leave a mark!.... WDFW announces Lake clos
Koda, I assume because in those waters salmon migrate through and without the ESA permits in place fishers are allowed zero impacts on salmon. A single fish hooked even by accident is a violation of ESA and therefore they must close the waters to mitigate that possibility. The state closes those Wat...

Re: Penn Reel Service Help
I have had good luck with John's in Everett,I do my own service but they have always had the parts needed in stock. I tried Penn 320's for a season and after having several spool tension caps and springs fall off in use I sold them and went back to the 209's/309's. If you are going to use the 321's...

Re: Thoughts on line twist when trolling flashers..?

I use a bead(to prevent the swivel from being reeled to the top guide and damaging it) and a snap swivel(Owner Hyperswivels lately) and clip to the swivel on the flasher and have never had an instance of l...
