RE:Fishing school's
Might be a drive to come over from lakewood but I second what fishinlife said. I have taken a distance casting class out of peninsula outfitters and it was extremely helpfull. Search around for a local fly shop or bait and tackle shop. Also look to see the special seminars that are held at your clos...

RE:I want to get into tournaments - have pointers, teammates etc?
One thing I did was to ask someone on the lake. Not all are willing to give you the time of day but eventually someone will. I had been trying to get into bass fishing for a while and seen all the shows and read the articles with no luck. After aproaching a few bass anglers on the water to no avail,...

RE:Carrot Stix
I just picked up a 21 carrot gold 7ft medium-moderate. I have only had a chance to take it out once so far but caught myself about a 6 lb bass on it. I loved the feel of the rod. It has great feel at the tip and enough backbone to yard that bass in. Still havien't tried throwing all i can at the rod...

RE:Fly Line
I myself am no veteran when it comes to fly fishing but I have been doing it for about 2 years now. I have Cortland 555 weight forward floating on it and I love it. I have tried some lower to mid level RIO lines and was not impressed. The Cortland is easy to shoot and has low memory. Again this post...

RE:new lake?
I didn't try for any bass, but when i went to lake wilderness a couple months ago a gentleman who lives on the lake was telling me that there are a lot of lunkers in that lake. He says not many people fish for them there cause they don't know they are in there. whether or not this is true maybe some...

RE:Eastern WA, Kettle falls area rivers and creeks???
On topic from the previous reply.... Is there anyone in this area that may be willing to possibly grant me access on their private stretch of land to access a nice river fishery to do some fly fishing. I know its a long shot but its worth it. I am very respectfull of the environment and privacy (you...

RE:New to fly fishing
I don't know where you live in washington but in kitsap county there is a fly shop named Peninsula Outfitters. When I started to learn a couple years ago i took their distance casting class. at the end of the 3 one hour sessions I was double hauling and able to shoot out all my line. If you live too...

You can never go wrong fishing for trout with powerbait especially when taking youngsters out. Less tangled lines means more lines in the water!!! :bounce:

Eastern WA, Kettle falls area rivers and creeks???
I will be heading over the the in-laws property next month near kettle falls. I am looking for some nice streams and rivers to do some fishing. Anyone have any spots they might point me too. RE:Shimano Stradic FI + What rod?
I don't know a whole lot about all the rods out there but I have a 6'6" Gloomis GL2 Light that I use for trout fishing. I love it. I went for a light so I had enough backbone for some larger browns when i go to eastern washington. Lifetime warranty and well built rod. New I paid $180. There is also ...
