Re: Early season bassin
After the full moon this coming Wednesday we should be in business, especially with the accompanying warming trend! I have watched water temps rise from 39 to 44* on a couple of my local lakes over the past two weeks. Could be touching 50 to 52 by next Wednesday? I love this time of year, you may on...

Re: Jig Color for SMB in Lake Stevens Sno County
Just start with black and blue and lighten it up from there...green pumpkin, then pumpkinseed etc. I would recommend hula-grubs over an actual 'jig' if that makes sense? 3/8-1oz jig head and run them on a drop shot as the weight. If you want to use an actual JIG, I would recommend a mop jig as the '...

Re: Fall Bass fishing - Fake News!
I caught a largemouth on a lake up north in less than a foot of water and the algae had been so thick for so long the bass was almost white! I would expect to see a shallow bite increase over the next couple weeks.

Re: Fall Bass fishing - Fake News!
So much depends on the body of water. Small shallow featureless lakes are going to fish very different than say something the size of Lake Washington with massive structure variations. I have largemouth lakes I target in the Fall because they are shallow and vegetation filled and therefore can be a ...

Hopefully?! I won't really get to it until November-ish and not sure how long it will take? Would be nice to have it ready by next Spring but will have to see how things unfold? I would be more than happy to send you a copy when it's complete!

Re: UPDATED 10.7.18 My 39/39 Challenge has ended.
MILES???? Lost track but I know in one four week span it was over 3,000! What surprised me was how distracted I became, how many techniques I left hanging and how long it actually took. Almost too much to mention in this answer....need to think. Ozette Lake, Wahkiakum and Pend Oreille Counties are a...

Re: UPDATED 10.7.18 My 39/39 Challenge has ended.
Well, I'm going to call it. Island County is the black hole of bass fishing lol. I got a couple cranking a drop off on Deer Lake yesterday but the biggest only went 0.7 pounds. Got skunked on Cranberry, biggest strike was maybe a half pounder?! I may hit it again next Spring just to make the catch "...

Re: UPDATED 9.9.18 My 39/39 Challenge is almost DONE!
I officially feel sorry for any bass fishing enthusiast that resides in Island County [cursing] ](*,) ](*,) I cannot understand how Skagit and Snohomish Counties can be as good as they are and Island County be so devoid of a decent bass fishery?? [thumbdn] I fished and checked Goss Lake off the list...

Re: UPDATED 9.9.18 My 39/39 Challenge is almost DONE!
I appreciate it everyone!! [thumbsup] I have mixed emotions closing it out...I'm happy and a little bummed. It's been a heckuva chase and something I looked forward to doing for so long that I can't believe it went by so fast...of course part of that was the plan [biggrin] I'm working on encapsulati...

Re: UPDATED 9.3.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!
Took Friday off to run my RT to the shop for a once over....and to run to fish some counties of course! I propped the jon boat up with two automotive ramps in the bed of my truck so I could still tow the RT and headed south. After dropping the RT I continued south to Wahkiakum County and Elochman Ma...

Re: UPDATED 9.3.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!
Thank you. Bummer county to move to...fortunately you just like catching 'fish' and you're not specifically a "bass head" or I would advise your other half to hide the rope [laugh] Short-ish drive up or down the coast will get you into a little better bass but it's still fairly scattered over there....

No, he impacted on the westbound side and knocked a jersey barrier into my lane and debris all over the right lane and shoulder!
I missed it all fortunately or everything would have been totalled including me!

Re: UPDATED 9.3.18 My 39/39 Challenge has begun!
This was almost an extremely costly trip! [scared] 30 seconds earlier in Concrete WA and I'm piled up big time! [scared] [scared] Very thankful the driver was fine and glad no one else (including myself) was involved! The tanker driver and I probably warned another 20 motorists with our flashlights....
