Re: Darrell and Dad's Winter Kokanee Special

Looks like I missed the cutoff for this one. What are the prices after February 15th?

Re: Lake Tapps Boat Ramps

Closed for the season. Even though the lake is open year round, they're draining the lake almost completely this year for dike work.

Re: Mountain climbers/Rainier?

I agree with you Nate. Circumstances always play a key role in any mountaineering outing, or extreme sport. I guess after doing it for so long, and all my friends and family are aware of this, I've become a bit desensitized to the fear of dying. It is very close to driving a vehicle on the road. You...

Re: Skook Lately?

Nice! Love those little cleos! The have some good flash to them. Another winner is the Thomas lure. Towards the end of the skookumchuck season those steelhead really take a liking to spoons. They are probably feeling pretty ornery by this point, and there tends to be a big influx of sea runs that c...

Re: Skook Lately?

Hey AJ - The last few times I've used spoons, I went with a chrome 1/3 oz. Little Cleo with a #2 Matzuo black chrome siwash sickle open eye. You'll need split ring pliers to remove the treble that comes with the spoon. I tied it to my main line, but a short leader would also work. The water wasn't t...

Don't forget about hardware. I had good luck with a chrome Little Cleo on Sunday.

Re: Skook Lately?

Fished the Skook for the first time yesterday. Beautiful area, kinda littered in spots. Took a bag of trash out. First impression: This river looks awesome! Water was pretty low, but aesthetically perfect. Large holes for floating or gear slinging. Quicker water for some good drifts. Seams with fish...

Re: Riffe Lake

You got me there. I have been mis identifying these for years now. Always thought there was a Kokanee fishery, but apparently not. Thanks for correcting me!

Riffe Lake

Hey all -
If I remember correctly, Riffe should be heating up with Kokanee right about now. Fished it about 3 years ago with the 2 pole endorsement, and had a blast. Between 2 of us, we had 6 times with 4 fish on, with 73 between both of us boated and released. Anyone been fishing this recently?
