Re: Brine for smoking salmon
I'm pretty new to smoking fish but after a couple 'mediocre' batches, I've got it dialed in and I'm changing the recipe around. Last round was an apple/maple brine. Blend 2 large sweet apples (cored w/out seeds) with 6-10 pressed garlic cloves until it looks like a smoothie. In a large bowl mix: 1.5...

I accidently fished up there last week. It's full of fire trucks and they're hitting on jigs and shrimp almost every cast.

Re: Coho Madness!!
Went to Wallace this morning, but about an hour after sunrise. Based on forum reports started with roe. Saw everybody using roe except 2 guys...they were the only 2 I saw catch anything. Once I switched from roe to corkie, I had a couple hits, but by then it was almost noon and had to head back. An ...

Nothing happening there either so we worked our way back down through Sultan along the Skykomish all ...

Re: Coho Madness!!
I went yesterday to Thomas Eddy - river was way up and the fish were gone. Couldn't fish from the normal spot...had to be up higher on the bank. No bites, just snags. Only saw a couple fish jump on the entire river and everybody seemed be heading out empty-handed. Any thoughts? I may go check out th...
