Re: Fishing pictures

Landed this rainbow trout earlier today in Steel Lake. Biggest I've seen out of a lake before, and a few guys said they've never seen one that big there, but it's only the 2nd time I've fished it. They stock it with 11-13 inchers though, so this ones been around awhile. 2012-06-10 21.14.jpg 2012-06-...

Re: Lake Fishing Mentors

Anyone interested in catching rainbow trout on Steel Lake in Federal Way (King County), or really anything else with trout nearby, I would love to help out. I usually land one every few minutes once I find the right spot on the lake :) I use a float tube personally, so if you have one too that would...

Re: Shore fishing around Auburn/Federal Way

Originally I meant shore fishing, however I stumbled upon a good deal on Craigslist for a new-in-box float tube :D Enumclaw is pretty far out of my, unless there's any that are really great and worth the drive.

Shore fishing around Auburn/Federal Way

I'm new to the area, looking for lakes to fish nearby. I tried Fivemile several times and saw a few crappie landed, Steel and North once each and saw a few rainbow trout caught, but on a whole nobody seemed to be catching much. I didn't catch anything at any of the lakes. Went to Washington with a f...

Re: Going to Lake WA, inexperienced fishing lakes

LOL Glad to hear you had some fun. Some prefer the slip bobbers, I just use a fixed bobber.......styrofoam or wood, torpedo shaped with a weight/lead keel. Ah, mine weren't weighted. Here's the biggest of the ones that we caught, is that about normal size? Not sure if I want to go back again this w...

Re: Going to Lake WA, inexperienced fishing lakes

Over thinking? Me? No way! Okay, guilty. It's a hazard of being a sound engineer :) Had a fun time yesterday, only caught 3 perch, but at least I finally caught something in a South King lake. My friend caught his first fish too, so that counts for something! I found one spot to the east of Ivar's r...

Re: Going to Lake WA, inexperienced fishing lakes

I drop shot for perch using #8 hooks and a single split shot at the end of the leader. I'm a worm guy, lots of others like jigs or other lures. http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=292742" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Good idea, I never thought about drop shots ...

Going to Lake WA, inexperienced fishing lakes

Hi, I used to live farther up north on the edge of San Juan Islands and fished a ton in the sound and rivers, but barely at all in lakes, especially not from the shore. Now, I'm stuck on banks. A friend of mine (who knows next to nothing about fishing) and I are going to Lake Washington Wednesday af...
