I had a pheonominal Saturday of the 2006 Sockeye Season. Launched from the Atlantic City Ramps. Started fishing at 0515, firsts fish on at 0517. Third fish in the boat before 0530. Wraped up An Eight Fish limit at 0700. The Sockeye were beautiful, hitting hard and fighting harder. Down riggers between 60' and 85' w/flashers and red hooks. I am still so stoked about the fishing that I cannot get the smile off of my face.
Not even when the boat trailer ended up w/ a flat tire that turned out to be unrepairable. Thus keeping my boat, and the horde of people I was planning on putting on some Sockeye, Off of Lake Washington for Sundays action. My dissappointment was some what tempered on Monday. After getting a new tube ( a long story as to why I have a tube still) at, if I may, Les Schwab, I got on The Lake at 1230 and boy was it Slow. WDFW Fish checker said Sunday was just as Slow. My friend Chinh Pham, will forever be known, by me at least, as "Drag Master." For losing the only Fish or bite for that matter at the back of the Boat. His drag was to tight and when the fish saw the boat he left and took Chinh's Flasher and hooks with him. Yep, thats right broke him off and that was the end of Sockeye '06.......
or was it just Part One!
Fish on!
