What a great fishery!
I'm thankfull to the tribe for making this happen! And all of us on the weather this weekend should be aswell.
Projected run size was 211k well below the 450k needed for a season. Glad to see so many fish coming back, and I'm sure we all hope for a seady yearly season.
My weekend started friday night. We launched both my 24 cruiser for sleeping resting ect. And my 18 ft fishing boat. We anchored up for the night in front of Boeing.
Next day we had rods in the water right at fishing hours at the south end of mercer island. 1st bit did not come untill an hour later. And with in 2 hours we had 4 limits in the boat.
chrome dodger with a pair of red hooks on both rods. we had a error with the down rigger and lost a set up, all I had was blue, green and black hooks left. By the ned of the weekend we had concluded color did not matter.
That night my son and I over nighted again.
Started fishing sat. at 5:30. We had our 2 fishermen limit by 7:am. At 8:am we picked up our friends at the dock and they had their limit with in 90 mins. We picked up all there fish between Boeing and south mercer. 90-110 ft of water rigger set at 65.
In the end we had caught 16 fish for 4 fishermen. Me and my 7 year old son, my good buddy and his 6 year old son.
Fish caught on the red hook set up untill we lost those. Then they were caught on red and green combos, Blue combos, in other words color did not matter.
Most were caught at 65 ft of the rigger in water over 90 ft deep.
Fish are everywhere. Move away from the crowds and enjoy your day on the water.
We had one hook up with a none down rigger fisherman.
Took 2 hours to get both boats out of the water at the noon rush.
I only wish I had Monday off!
Hope to see ya all out there next year!
