Arrived on the lake at 10:30 a.m. Air temperature was a balmy 48 degrees. After putting into the water, my water temp gauge showed a cool 41 degrees. Only one other fisherman out. My buddy and I were dragging white sparkle leeches weighted heavy) trying to dredge the bottom for the big browns. My fish finder was showing a lot of fish hugging the bottom everywhere, particularly along the highway in the first cove as you approach the lake from the east. However, between the 10 fishing hours between the two of us, I had one strike. The only other guy out there was drowning bloodworms and claimed he was catching fish. However, I never saw him hooked up once so maybe the cold was getting to his mind. After my partner and I lost feeling in our feet, we hung it up around 3:00.
