after yesterday, i decided to bring marla with me to try for some more of these fine,porker kokes. she caught all the fish but two. i lost 7 in a row! marlas biggest was 15". the rest, all but two, were 14". the lone runt was a footer. we hit the lake at 6 am, and by 8 ,the bite was totally over. got the fish at 60' deep again. the males are jsut barly starting to get a little extra lenth to their jaws. chrome bright fish, and very ,very fat. a few more weeks should tell teh tale of how big they will be, before they are totally mature. not sure when they quit biting for the season...im guessing early-mid september. if so,they will all be 15", im hoping, with some hitting near 17". maybe go to merwin in a few weeks, to see if those have grown much. they were 13.5" in early june.
