Greeting from the South!!! I have moved to Atlanta, GA and the fishing is amazing. I do however miss fishing Round Lake. I was reading a post and it looks like people are staring to figure this is the place for some nice Bass and some great Gills and Crappie.
The best method I found for catching Bass at Round lake was finesse fishing. Any 3-5 inch Plastic worm (Pumpkin, or Watermelon seed) texas rigged with no weight works well. Cast out and let your line sink all the way to bottom paying attention to the slightest varience to your line, when you have hit bottom, jig and let the worm settle again, repeat. I know this isnt the most exciting form of fishing. It is not like thorwing a topwater or a hard bait, but it is really effective. Fishing the main lake is okay, but working a worm around the fish wheel or in the pond it is attached to (Mill Creek Pond) will produce the most fish.
Good Luck and enjoy the Lake, it is as good a Bass lake as you will find in the northwest.
