Started out the day around 12pm and the weather was perfect. Large chironomids were hatching pretty frequently, and when it started to sprinkle the fish would rise, some were ferocious and some were sipping emergers. Started out trolling a big black egg sucker with a sink tip leader about 10' deep, and within 15 minutes landed a classic pass lake triploid, he put a great fight! With the consistent rises, decided to try a dry and had one nice rise to an emerger pattern but no other takes. Tried some other various colors/patterns of streamers to no avail. Decided to put the egg sucker back on for the troll in, and right before the launch another solid take from a bow, he made a nice leap and popped off. A promising trip for the season to come. Things are warming up and the fish are becoming active with the choronomid hatch. Look forward to hitting it up again this weekend.
