Made my annual opening day trip to Lake McMurray getting there about 1:00 a.m. and starting fishing at 11-no rush since the fish are not oriented to time this early in the season. Some people having trouble catching fish and the bite was slower than normal but I managed to land between 25-30 on a trolled fly in my float tube. Tried three patterns and the black "Superfly" seemed to be the best. I recently had heart surgery so I took frequent breaks. If you have not tried to troll a fly close to the surface you owe it to yourself to try it, you may be surprised how well it works. That is all I use for the first few weeks of the season and I do very well.
