This is one of Skagit Counties most popular trout lakes and for good reason. We went out yesterday and I trolled an Uncle Wes green and black with a trout dodger and 1 and 1/4 oz of weight about 80 feet behind the boat and got my limit in short order. These rainbow trout are thick and feisty, also landed one cutthroat trout that put up a very good battle. The surface water temperature was holding steady between 62 and 64 degrees. All fish ranged in the 11-15 inch range and there are bigger in there. Boat ramp is a little shallow but perfect for smaller boats. I plan on checking this lake out again in the near future.
