Thanks to more land lockups by the private timber industry, Day lake is now an 11 1/2 mile bike ride. They don't want any motor vehicles.
We fished off the boat launch (what's left of it) and picked up a 11" cutt on a super duper.
Also got a few little brookies. After the fish got sick of looking at our hardware we switched to bait. Worms and a bobber worked best. Lots of fish but they were all small.
We heard a very strange scream come out of the swamp on the south side of the lake (Bigfoot), very loud and somewhat human like. But we were the only people there.
This is a great lake for a raft. The bigger brookies used to be on the north end of the lake. Try dry mosquitoes, if you don't fly fish just use a fly bobber and about 6 feet of leader.
The timber industry loves to lock up places like this so they can let all their buddies in to fish and hunt while the public has to bike in from 11 miles either way. Nice.
