What a great lake in Skagit County we went out trolling barbless flies, I used a brown wooley bugger and my partner used a brown dragon fly nymph. Water surface temp was at 62 degrees we worked the north and northwest side of the lake and at last total we hooked and landed 34 trout in the 10 to 14 inch range we released 24 of them and kept our limits for a fish fry. We had 4 separate double hook ups, lost at least a half dozen at the boat and missed countless others. The trout population is very healthy in this lake and when they hit your fly it is like a train wreck at the other end we had several come out of the water with acrobatic displays, all of them were tremendous fighters and it was hard to tell just how big they were buy the size of the fight, you didn't really know until you got them close to the boat. The great thing about this whole day is that we were the only ones on the lake fishing, we only seen one other boat and a jet ski for a few minutes of the day. This was the best day I can remember in recent years on a lake.
