The good: Great lake! We were out there all day and saw only two other fishermen that were leaving as we were arriving. We caught several fish, including a meaty 14” RB. Float tubers there before us caught 2 16s. I’d definitely recommend a float tube as access points to the lake are limited.
The bad: The hike is brutal. It’s only 2.5 miles, but its one of the steepest I’ve seen. Its steep enough where coming down is challenging. If you’re a hiker that likes to fish, then this lake may be for you. If you are a normal person that doesn’t jog up 20 degree inclines for your morning workout, prepare to have you butt kicked. If you are out of shape, I’d recommend another lake.
I’d also recommend avoiding the lake if there’s been a lot of rain. The water level is nice and low right now, but when its high it would be difficult to fish.
