This must be my lucky lake. Originally was going to try Panther, but it was too windy that morning for my small boat. So drove down to Maggie, it is 11am, and the temp is already in the mid 80's. Could not believe it when I dropped my line in, there it was...number 1 trout, followed by a couple of perch, and then 4 more trout, all within the hour, all 10 to 12 inches. Told my wife I would be home when it got too hot outside (which it did, but so were the bites). One of the locals that live on the lake got a bit upset with me catching "their fish". And asked me if I could put the fish back in so they could grow some more, and they could catch them later. I packed my things and went on my merry way, but now MY "Lucky Lake", has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. That's too bad too,, we all pay our fishing licenses and taxes for the public fishing areas, and the fishing plantings, and then this happens. Must be nice to OWN a lake. I will be heading to Eastern Washington next week to fish, and then Oregon, but will have to pay another visit before the season ends....FISH ON!
