What a great morning to be on the water! Started fishing at 8am, water temp 53 degrees. The first 1 1/2 hrs I fiddled around with a gang troll which was a waste of time. Key word - fish deep! After watching another angler land a nice fish, I decided to switch to the fly gear and use his advice - THANKS! Fished an olive leach and let all my sinking line out to the backing. Trolled slow in 25-35 ft of water. I was marking a lot of fish, but better, I immediately hooked into a powerful rainbow that measured out at 18", an obvious triploid from the deformed fin. My confidence regained, I fished until 11am and landed a nice 14" rainbow. I started getting quite a few hits but they were not the hooking type. Great morning on the water.
