Arrived in late afternoon - sunny and warm. Water temp was 73 degrees at all lake locations. Measured depth to a maximum of about 30 feet. Fishing slow (used both sinking and floating fly patterns) possible due to high temperatures. A friend of mine did catch one about 15" on a Carry Special.... fish was thin. Fish were rising but appeared to be taking just under the surface..... chronomids(?)
Could be better in Fall when temperatures cool and water is more oxygenated.
Note: Upon arrival there were five individuals with several fish on stringers and using worms - they were asked to leave and the fish still alive on their stringer were released. This lake is "catch and release, fly fishing only" compliments of Cady Lake Lodge. Please don't abuse the privilege to fish here.
