Get in line for your "Big Macks". Perform you civic duty by helping rid
Lake Chelan of Mackinaw or Lakers, as they are sometimes called. There
is no better way to do this than sign on with Darrel and Dad's Guide
Service for a day on Chelan. Mackinaw are bottom dwellers and no guide
could have worked harder at keeping our bait closer to the bottom than
Anton, our guide. He was constantly adjusting the downrigger depth to
keep us in the fish. Stan Arbogast and I caught seven fish. Although
Stan's was the biggest at 7 and 1/4 pounds, I caught 5 of the 7. Stan
lost two that got off right after the strike and I lost one that was
nearly within site before it got off. It must have been the biggest of
the day, since we didn't get to see it! Anton likes to use a U-20
flatfish and about 18 inches in front of that, something that looks like
miniature helicopter blades. Want more information? You'll just have
to go fishing with him! You can email him at antonj@aol.com.
