The fishing for Mackinaw (aka: lake trout) has continued to be very good. The last time out, we caught 11 in a little under 3 hours of fishing. These all came out of the lower basin, just trolling a line from the drop out from Lake Chelan Shores all the way to to Mac Bar, just below Wapato Point. All of the fish came within 5' to 20' off the bottom. Most were in water from 130' to 185' deep. All the fish were from 2.5#(21') to 5# (26"). This was a shift from mid-December when the fishing had been very hot up around the narrows. I have seen fewer fish up there lately and have not gotten many to bite. There was some kind of transition between December 23rd and 27th.
