Spent the afternoon on Swift Reservoir taking creel counts of boaters on
the lake. Fishing is very good for trout between 10-14 inches with an
occasional fish over 17 inches. Of the 5 boats that I checked today all
fisherman stated that they had caught their limits with the exception of
one boat being one shy of the limit. As a volunteer for the Washington DFW
I appreciate the honesty that most of the fisherman offer when asked about
their fishing success. But a note to those who take exception to being
asked to present their licenses: REMEMBER, THE VOLUNTEERS ARE ONLY TRYING
TO PRESERVE THE FEW REMAINING GOOD FISHING OPPORTUNITIES LEFT IN THE
STATE! We are NOT law enforcement officers; but we do work alongside to
make sure that everyone is playing by the rules and paying their FAIR share
of the fees. By doing so YOUR license and other fees won't go need to be
raised to make up for violators who seem to think that laws were made for
everyone but them. Good fishing to you all!
