I went to the Lake Tyee derby- to take my 6-yr old daugter. For the guy who posted the report telling everyone to get there "before all the little kiddies" needs to have his head thumped. The derby IS FOR THE KIDS- not adults. I was shocked at how many adults were actally fishing- taking the rods away from their kids and trying hard to catch one of 10,000 fish plopped into a netted area no more than 20 yards from the shore. The TU folks had to constantly keep reminding them that this was for kids- not them. I saw the huge lunker- must have been 15-20lbs- caught by some pathetic 30-yr old Dad, who really semed proud of himself, only to have it taken back and released. C'mon "sportsmen" go somewhere else and let the kids get introduced to the sport- that is what this is about.
