I made it to the lake around 10:15am. Beautiful, crisp day. Still a little ice around the shaded parts of the bank. Started fishing by the boat launch (which is still closed) with little luck. Moved over to the dock and had no better luck. I knew it was pretty early in the season for Meridian, or any other lake I fish at in and around Kent (Fenwick, Wilderness). But it was a nice day, beats sitting at home. For about 45 min I thing I was the only one at the park.

It's kind of sad that the only really good trout fishing in these lakes is few months after a plant. It would be nice to see more people practicing catch and release so there was a better chance of some hold overs. I would also like to see more wardens out there checking for licenses and making sure people are only fishing with one pole.
