Despite a bit of a breeze blowing at Sandpoint, my friends and I decided to hit the 520 bridge in search of some quality fish. We started fishing at 6:30 am, using a nightcrawler on a walleye rig with a gang troll at 35 feet, a thin blade spoon trolled shallow, and a thin blade trolled at 30 feet. It was slow going until 8:30 when we tied into an excellent 22" rainbow, caught on the walleye rig. Beautiful fish and a great fight on light line! Soon after we had a nice 12-14" fish up to the boat, caught on the same rig. Lost the fish at the boat. That was it for today, stopped fishing at 10:45.
