Fished lake Sammamish twice last week -- on March 6th (Friday) and March 10th. This is my first year fly-fishing, and I left work early on Friday, basically to practice casting. It's a good thing that I approached the day that way, because I caught nothing in 2.5 hours. I fished the east-side of Sammamish park where the stream enters the lake. The water was cold and murky, but the weather was beautiful. A few decent sized (10"?) fish did break the surface, but nothing took my #12 hare's ear. On Sunday morning I fished the same area at 8:00 when the park opened. A low was moving in, and the wind was too much for my novice casting ability by 9:15 when I called it a day.
