I made it to Rattlesnake Lake for opening day to fish from shore.
Using a Rooster Tail (Green) I killed them starting about 7:15 a.m. The water was boiling about 25 to 30 yards offshore and I was able to reach the fringe with the small lure (Single hook, barbless). Fish were 8" - 11" and I let them all go (as I hope others are doing). I put on a sinker to reach out a little further but this did not produce any hits so it was back to the lure alone and BANG.
Another man was doing the same nearby and he had similar luck with a lure.
There were over 50 boats / tubes on the water fly fishing but I did not see any pulling them in as easily as I was but they all seemed to be getting hits.
