I put my driftboat in at 5 p.m. Let out 2 colors of lead core line with a triple teaser and started rowing across the lake. Wham. On the far shore I had 5 more strikes in about ten minutes, I thought it was going to be a wild night of fishing. A small storm front came in and everything stopped. Erik Weaver from the fisherman was out with his boy. They were slow trolling worms : straight mono, a hook and a splitshot. They were still getting some action so I switched to that rig. I had lots of bites but only managed to land one fish. I hope my summer steelhead season is better than that.
Erik said it was a slow night. A week or two earlier his boy had caught a 3lb. Brown. Worms seem to be the key to Pine Lake at the moment.
