We arrived on the opening morning all dressed for the rain that really never came. The lake was pretty crowded even before sunrise so we hurried and hiked to where we were going to bank fish. Upon arriving at a nice spot I realized I forgot the worms in the truck so I went back and got them. Upon my return my friend had already landed a small planter. We both landed three small ones on bait in the first 45 minutes, so we both lure fished without a bite for the next two hours. Started to bait fish again and got our limit of small planters and left. I was really disappointed to see only one carryover landed in the several people I talked to. The fish all were really light biters and had empty stomachs except for other people's power bait and the one I landed that had engulfed a cigarret butt. On our way home we stopped at Quincy lake and saw some nicer fish there, apparently the morning bite was nice according to some people I talked to. Saw a couple nice fish get landed! One in the two pound range but it was pretty slow until we left back home to the west.
