The wife and I took a quick trip to Quincy Lake to enjoy the
sunshine and catch a few fish. While the sun was shining, the fish were not. We were skunked and checking with a number of fishermen present. I saw only 2 nice carryover rainbows on stringers (apx 13 to 14" ea.). It appeared the bite was early in the morning and had been since the opener on 03/01, with few fish being taken per angler and the majority of them apparently carryovers.
On a related note, fishing at nearby Burke lake has been reported to be even slower, though a DFW agent arrested a man the day before the opener who was in possession of 96, that's right, 96 trout. While you've got to give an atta-boy to the Fish and Wildlife Agent who got this guy I know that I'm not the only one who is wondering what this guy was using for bait before he got caught!!
