On a family vacation from Phoenix, AZ. Visiting in-laws in Rochester, my Father and I planned to try one of the many wonderful lakes in the area, we decided on Riffe Lake because it's open year round. As we where driving to the lake we stopped at a local tackle shop called Fish Country we recieved excellant information about what fishing techniques to use, what bait and even the hot spots at the lake. They were very friendly and eager to help with tackle selection. The morning weather was very windy I'd say 25 - 30 mph winds from the north-east. We first checked the dam and found it to be to windy. We then drove around to Mosyrock Camp Ground area to get some relief from the wind. Just east of the launch ramp we decided to give it a try. Using the slip bobber set up recommended by the folks at Fish Country, my Dad's first cast got picked up, but since he was a little slow to set the hook he lost it. My first cast was rewarded by a nice Silver Salmon attacking a night crawler/corn offering. For the next several hours we had a steady pick of fish and ended up limiting out with 4 - Silver Salmon to 2 Lbs. and 6 - Rainbow Trout to 2-1/4 Lbs.
