Due to an excursion at another lake, I didn't arrive at Deer until mid-day. The water was down at least 6 vertical feet from the spring level, so I immediately started deep with a sinking line. Netted 3 nice bows, all about 15" and full of fight. Entry into the North end of the lake was rather humorous as I had to convince several cows that I needed to get by them. Based on the water level and lack of aquatic activity, I would skip this lake until next season.
