After a hot morning on Clear lake with little luck it was time to go to Ohop for some fish. Unfortunately, we only got more sun. I ended up with two small trout and my buddy got skunked. We did see, however, a couple fish caught from the north roadside, where some folks like to take their campers and listen to the log trucks scream by. Yup, my idea of "peaceful".
Ohop is a good lake to troll on because it's long and the boat launch is at one end. It takes aprox. 1 1/2 hours to troll end to end. As long as you don't waist time catching fish. The fish seem to like the bend at the middle of the lake. There is a small stream that feeds the lake there and it's a little shallower (if that's a word) than the rest of the 22-25' depths in the middle. Ohop yeilds some bass, but that requires thinking and patience. Trolling only requires a small motor adjustment now & then.
