Well, we were out there and the water was calm. It was about 2:00 pm. We were fishing off the public dock. We were using rainbow colored power bait with 1 ounce weight about 2 ft. away from the bait. All of a sudden I got a huge tug on my line. I ran over and it stopped. All at once the line started jumpin' up and down. I set the hook and realed in the fish. It fought good. We got it netted and it was about 20". It was a monster rainbow trout. Silver lake is usually not known for big fish. It has gotten a lot better over the years though. The type of species that I know of is yellow perch, rainbow trout, Kokanee, silver, and there are lots of bass. The only problem is that they are not that big. Silver lake is mostly known for Rainbow trout.
