Went to Coffee Pot lake for my third time today and the fishing was not very good. There were lots of fisherman everywhere and I only saw a couple caught. They were around 12" and 14" the rest were real small 8"s. I fished all day between the boats and float tubes for very little success. I caught two 8"s and that was it for nine hours of fishing. I tried cronomid fishing and sink tip wooly buggers and caught nothing so I switched to a floating line with a bugger and caught the two 8"s for the day. I saw something today that made me a little irritated - many fisherman were fishing over the spawning beds. Some say that spawning in this lake can be successful for the fish so why aggravate them all day by fishing over them with egg patterns when they are trying to reproduce? Last year there were buoys and rope around the spawning area for protection against spawner fisherman today I realized it has been conveniently cut.
