I wanted to fish this lake before it closed for the season. I arrived Saturday a.m. Spoke with a few shore fisherman using worms and other bait. They had a couple. I fished with sinking line and various patterns. Olive W.B., Wine leech, prince nymph, chironomids. I hooked into about 20 fish for the day. All nice Cutthroats, 10 -12 inches. They didn't put up much of a fight until they got close to my tube. I missed a bunch of strikes. I suspect they were just short striking since a few I landed were hooked on the outside of their mouths. One was hooked on the gill opening! Once close to the tube they woke up and started fighting. Until then I just led them in without episode. I thought I was catching 4-6 inchers at first. This is a nice lake and I sure enjoyed fishing it. I'll be back in the Spring!
