Well we launched at 0530 and there was only one boat out before us and two behind us.
The weather was overcast with a slight breeze from the South, but it was really pleasant.
There were two of us in a 13-foot. Trimline, Sports Cat, nice lake boat. But back to the report.
We first tried the cove just south of the military marina, in about 40 feet of water, we fished there for about an hour with no hits at all, and very little action showing on the fish finder. We moved to the VA Hospital and fished about 20 yards from the shore, again in about 45 feet of water. The fishing was better there, but not by much.
We saw a lot of fish on the finder but they were slow to take bait.
We were using salmon eggs and maggots.
We managed to land six nice trout though, with the average size around 14 inches, but they were really thick. So we did not get skunked, but we were hoping for Kokanee.
A good time was had by all. We spoke to a few of the boaters that launched around the same time we did and we were the only boat that had brought it keepers.
We will go back, we always do.
