Fishing has been poor all year, besides my wife taking a 20 inch washed out Rainbow, just before they filled the lake. CAUTION: This 20 inch Rainbow was full of WORMS. YUCK!
A friend and I have been to Alder three week-ends in the last month and a half. Bill, a first timer to the lake, managed to take a 14 inch Rainbow the first two times out. Other than that, just catching a lot of Perch. Avoided the lake again for the last two week-ends, but on the week-end of Oct. 23rd fished Alder and hit what I've been waiting all year for--LOTS OF FISH but not what anybody would expect for Alder. Bill, hooked into two 12 inch
Kokonees and several 9 inchers using a bobber and fresh trout eggs from American Lake fish. But as for me using a technique most lowland lake fishermen would find crazy I nailed one 12 inch Kokonee, and too my surprise, four large Cut-throat all during what Alder is famous for--the 1 1/2 hour bite!! NOTE: (One Cut-throat had worms! What's up?)
These fish were the best fighters Bill and I have caught all year! This says a lot from two fishing fanatics.
About the launch-- due to low water-- you might not be able to get in very much longer.
Fish On!
