I have a buddy at work who I swap fishing tips and stories with. A couple of weeks ago he checked out No Name lake and came back with the inside info from the park ranger. According to the Ranger a renegade is the pattern of choice among No Name Cutthroats. Not one to argue with experience, I stopped at my local fly shop and picked up some #14 Renegades on my way out of Town.
I arrived at the lake at about 4:00pm. When I started wading I was shocked that the H20 temp was about 75 or 80 degrees (I didn't have a thermometer so this was an approximation). About 6:30 the water cooled down and the fish came alive. I hooked and landed 4 Cutts (10 to 14 inches) in the course of 90 minutes. Also had a handful of missed strikes. This lake was a lot of fun and super easy to fish. Just wish that I had planned ahead and spent the whole weekend camping and fishing.
