We read a report on WashingtonLakes.com that said Roses lake was doing well in the middle of March. We were ready to dust off our fishing poles so we loaded up the boat and headed over the mountains about 4am Saturday morning. We got to the lake about 7:30 in the morn. and started by trolling hot shots and flat fish, The darker colors worked better for us. We were able to release most of the smaller ones, about 12 inches, and kept a few of the larger ones, about 14 inches. After a few times around the lake, and it didn't seem to matter where in the lake we fished, we tried some still fishing. That was even more productive than trolling, but harder to release them, even with barbless hooks. We all had a great time, even our 15 year old son who doesn't have a lot of patience or a lot of time to spend with his parents.
