I had such good luck a couple of weeks ago at Clear Lake I decided to take a friend up there to try for some trout. By the end of the trip, I felt like the proverbial guide saying, "You should have been here last week".

We fished the lake for about an hour and a half using a combination of spinners and spoons. I managed two rainbow trout in that time while my friend, a skilled fisherman by the name of Russell Johnston, managed one. All of the fish were about 9 inches long and looking healthy.

Lake conditions were about the same as my earlier report on September 28th except for two differences. Number one, the water visibility was very poor in comparison to my last trip (perhaps one to two feet). Secondly, the weather temp. was only about 45 degrees. Despite this, trout were actively surface
feeding during our late morning foray, but we unfortunately had no flies to offer them.
