Arrived at the lake at about 8:00am. It had rained the night before so it was rather cool still. The fog hadn't burned off the lake yet and since I hadn't fished this lake for a long time, and not at all from shore. I decided to wait till the fog cleared a little in hopes to see if fish were topping in any concentrated areas. Course the only tops I did see where toward this middle of the lake in the current that runs from the stream to to the spill way. I went to the creek mouth at the south end. It is rather shallow for some distance out, nothing I could reach well with a fly rod from shore. I'm really wishing I brought the boat this weekend. I decide to use worms with my spinning pole and use a bobber to help float it out the distance to the deeper water. It took all the line on my reel. Even though the fish were topping at random around the bobber, nothing was biting. Didn't appear to be anything big either. So I decide to leave at around 10:15 and head to Crescent Lake. I'll be back with a boat next year. If anyone knows of any good places from the shore to fish let me know! bakerct78 @ yahoo . com
