My buddy Craig, his son Corey (13) and I went to the PotHoles area for outdoors weekend of Camping, Golfing and Fishing. We camped at the Potholes State Park and launched from there. Saturday we fished near the mouth of Frenchman's Wasteway trolling Pop gear and wedding rings. Right off we see a boat netting a large Rainbow and figure we're in the right spot. Within the next couple of hours Corey and I each had a 16" 2lb+ Rainbows. Craig had a shot at one but lost it to a broken hook. These fish hit hard and fight. Saturday afternoon we tried for Walleyes over near Goose Island using Double Whammeys. Nothing. Sunday morning we went back to the trout hole. Corey steers me over several more Fatties hungry for a worm. Netting two and losing another while untangling pop gear. (If Corey could drive a boat as straight as his Golf Drive. Enough Said.) Craig Switches to a Big Green fly and FINALLY gets one in the boat. It was a great weekend. Calm enough to fish but too cool for the Jet Skies.
