I arrived at the lake about 1 p.m. I had just spoke with the local Fish and Wildlife Officer at North Skookum. We chatted a bit. Nice guy. He hadn't heard anything on Halfmoon lately. I only caught Brookies in there before so I was hoping to hook up with a Cutthroat or 2. I was pleasantly rewarded for coming back. I immediately hooked up with a nice little 12 incher and then a 13 incher about 45 mins. later. I also caught a couple Brookies. All the fish I caught were parasite free. The previous week all Brookies I landed had a small black parasite on their skin (I'm told the parasite is white but causes a black pigmentation that looks like large flecks of black pepper on the skin). Anyway, I was please to find none of the parasite on any fish that day. I left pleased and satisfied. I had the lake to myself and it was a beautiful Sunny day. Smoke in the area was caused by prescribed burning by the USFS in a nearby area.
