A friend and I were camping at mardon resort. the trip was of
course a fish trip. we started at about 11:00 am with in five minutes I hooked into a three pound small mouth bass. we caught decent bass for hours. we came back in the evening and were fishing a 15 ft. drop off for bass, when my grub stopped and moved right in a crazy motion. I set the hook and the fight began. the fish started running like Michael Johnson. I
thought I either had a 15 lb. carp or a world record smallie. I fought him for a little over five minutes. I was losing line pretty quick so I started chasing it with my ten foot aluminum valco. I was able to get a glimpse of it before we netted it. It was not orange. I saw his dark back and thought for sure it was a bass, to my surprise it was a 5 lb rainbow trout! it was great, my friend and I immediately were trout fisherman once again. I was
able to catch 3 more trout up to 3lbs. but my friend couldn't catch a cold. all and all it was the best fishing trip I've ever had.
