I fished Heart Lake for about 5 hours. I trolled the first three hours and released 4 fish. I was dragging a wedding ring tipped with a small peace of worm. I still fished the South bank, next to the basalt cliffs, and had a little better luck. I averaged a fish about every 20 minutes. The bad news is, all the fish were small. This time last year, we were getting some 3 to 4 pounders. The lake is also full of green slime, creating a problem when reeling in your line. This should be a good lake to fish next year, when the plants grow up.
