Myself and my brother arrived at Banks at noon for our first outing
on that lake. Instantly my brother landed a beautiful 16 inch rainbow followed by a 3 pound smallmouth trolling a gold colored rapala. Both fish were released. I was only able to land a 16 inch walleye that day before we were blown off the lake due to some freak windstorm that came out of nowhere. Next morning the wind was still high and we decided to head toward potholes. Our first stop was Lake Warden, where again my brother started catching a bunch of planted rainbows and a nice brown trout. Just a couple
of rainbows for myself. The lake was well protected by the high winds that day. Next, we started heading toward Pothole's. Do to the holiday weekend pothole's looked like a zoo with too many high powered ski boats and jetskiier's.
So we headed towards the Columbia to fish Wanapum Dam. Only fish caught was a 4 pound squawfish. On our final day we fished Bank's again and caught a couple more walleyes, the biggest a 19 inch keeper and a 10 pound carp that swallowed our walleye rig. Over all it was a fun trip. I just wished the wind would of cooperated so we could get some more fishing in. Be very
carefull fishing Banks. If you see the wind coming, get off the lake
fast!!!
