Drove over to Banks on Sunday, set up camp and let the kids swim all afternoon. The water sure felt cold to me! We went out in the evening to the ledge on the south point of Steamboat and started fishing walleye rigs with nightcrawlers/blades in 20-30 feet of water. After about 15 minutes the wind came up strong and blew us around too much to fish. We headed back to the Punchbowl, but every time I thought I'd found a sheltered area to fish, the wind shifted. The kids started losing interested and wanted to make smoors, so back to camp we went. The next day the wind was still blowing kinda strong so we hiked to the top of Steamboat Rock for a million dollar view. We fished a few shoreline pull offs on the way home for bass. Matt had one nice bass follow his spinner in but it didn't take the lure. Not so great on the fishing end of things but as always very nice to get over to the dry side of the state!
