Hit the water at 5:30 with my sons and friend Manuel. We fished three lines at 60, 70, and 80 feet. Used both red and black hooks today. We fished south of 520 on the east side. Saw a few caught but it was slow until 7 am when the best morning bite I've seen yet occurred. Several boats began hooking up. This lasted for about 45 minutes and then ended. We caught two and lost two. Nice, BIG bucks that ran line out like no one's business. Don't try to tell me these sockeye don't fight! After this morning bite we saw a fish here, a fish there. Lots of fish on the fish finder. At 9 am we hit a double. The larger fish, another male, was caught at 80 feet and was too much for my nine year old, Matthew, to get in. Manuel finished catching him and my six year old, James, brought in a nice 5 pound hen. That ended the action for the day. We came in at 10am.
